Course description:
The course covers basic questions, principles, and problems on risk assessment of contaminated soils from the Finnish perspective. It is aimed to all (postgraduate) students on environmental sciences and health. The participants are expected to take an active role in the course. All the participants will make a short presentation on the given topic. These topics will be given before the course begin. At the end of the course, the whole group will make a wiki-based open risk assessment as an interactive process.
Topics for student presentations:
Chlorophenols and dioxins in contaminated soils
Creosote in contaminated soils
Chromium in contaminated soils
Lead in contaminated soil
Service stations
Contamination from wastes
Impurities in sediments
