Object and Contents
The course will familiarize participants with the basics of Finnish and European environmental law. The specific focus areas consist of environmental protection law, environmental impact assessments and chemical legislation. Besides substantive issues the course will provide information about acquiring and using legal sources, analyzing court cases and referring to legal materials.
Issues of environmental law will be introduced from the pragmatic point of view. Aim is to acquaint participants with the practical skills which are needed in environmental labour market.
Study Mode
Active participation to the lectures and exercises is required. After the lectures students must return 7-10 pages long learning diary (deadline 3rd of December). Guidance for the learning diary will be given in the beginning of the course.
Additional information
The lectures are in English. However, if all the participants have a working knowledge of Finnish, the lectures will be in Finnish.
